9 Space Train

At number 9 we have the LEGO Space Train. Featuring in LEGO set 6991 released in 1994, the Space Train is a futuristic, space-themed, monorail train used for transportation.
8 NOHAB MAV M61.020

Eighth on the list is the MOHAB MAV M61.020. This train seems to be a LEGO creation by granada_turnier (aka csapagygolyoescsuzli). Although there is not a lot of information available about this MOC, it is still a pretty train to look at.

7 Winter Holiday Train

In the number 7 spot, we have the LEGO Winter Holiday Train. The Winter Holiday Train, set 10254, is the 2016 continuation of the LEGO Winter Holiday line. It includes a festive steam locomotive train engine, a coal tender, flatbed wagon with a rotating holiday tree and a red caboose.
The Winter Holiday Train can be upgraded to be motorised and have smoke billowing from its stack (not included in the original set).
6 Heavy-Haul Train

The Heavy-Haul Train is part of a LEGO City Train set (60098) that was released in June 2015. This simple yet eye-catching powerful diesel-engined cargo train is fully motorised with 7 speeds.
Apart from the locomotive, the set also includes a hopper wagon and two flatbed wagons.
5 High-Speed Passenger Train

Halfway through our list, we have the LEGO High-Speed Passenger Train. The High-Speed Passenger Train is a sleek, streamlined electric passenger train by LEGO City. It is featured in set 60051 and was released in June 2014.
Apart from being pretty to look at, the train set comes standard with motorisation and lighting, has multiple speeds and can move at high speeds.
4 Cargo Train

At number 4 on the list, we have the LEGO Cargo Train. The Cargo Train by LEGO is a beautiful but strong motorized cargo train released in 2014. It is part of LEGO set 60052. Apart from the blue locomotive, it also comes with a cattle wagon and two cargo wagons.
3 Toronto Rocket Subway Train

At the bottom of the top 3, we have the Toronto Rocket Subway Train. The Toronto Rocket Subway Train is the newest LEGO train on our list.
It is a MOC made by Aaron Chapman (aka Legovader217) and, at the time of writing this, is being uploaded to LEGO IDEAS to gain support to turn it into an official LEGO set. This train is well worth the effort to sign up and support him.
Update: Although the set got 10 000 supporters, the set was not approved by LEGo Ideas.
2 Hogwarts Express

Sitting at a solid number 2 is the LEGO Hogwarts Express. The Hogwarts Express is modelled from the Harry Potter movies. This stunning red steam locomotive was released as part of LEGO set 75955 in 2018. The set also includes a train carriage and a coal tender.
1 Emerald Night

The number 1 spot on our list goes to the Emerald Night. This beautiful iconic green steam locomotive was released in LEGO set 10194 between 2009 and 2012 and was only available from LEGO’s online store.
The Emerald Night is a Pacific type steam locomotive. Although the original set did not contain a motor, the train was easy to motorise using components that became available at the same time the set was released. The set also included a coal tender and a dining car.
